Privacy policy

A plain account of data on Simios

Simios is an informational website. It does not offer accounts, checkout, profile storage or a server-side contact database. This policy explains the limited information involved in viewing its pages and using its email link.

Quick answer. The site sets no first-party tracking cookies and stores no contact-form data. A local theme preference is saved in your browser only if you use the dark/light toggle.

Scope and who this policy covers

This policy applies to the public pages at simios.digital. Simios publishes general education about digital eSIMs, devices and travel preparation. It is not a telecommunications provider and does not operate a customer account area. If you follow a link to another website, that website’s own privacy policy applies to its handling of data.

Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected]. The contact route is email rather than a user account or ticketing system.

Cookies, local storage and analytics

Simios sets no first-party tracking cookies. The site does not run first-party analytics scripts, advertising pixels, retargeting tools or cross-site behavioural profiling. It does not sell personal data and does not create reader accounts.

The dark/light theme control can store one small value called theme in your browser’s localStorage. That value records a display preference, such as dark or light; it is not sent to Simios as a form submission and is not used to identify you. You can remove it by clearing the site’s local storage in browser settings. If no preference has been saved, the site may use your device’s system colour preference to choose its initial appearance.

Third parties that deliver technical resources may process requests made by your browser, including an IP address, browser details or standard server-log information under their own policies. Those services are described below. Simios does not control their independent logging or cookie practices.

Contact form and email handling

The contact form on the contact page is a client-side mailto form. It does not post form fields to a Simios server, database, CRM, analytics platform or mailing list. When you press its button, JavaScript asks your device to open a new message in the email application configured by you. The site states this beside the form because the difference matters.

Until you choose to send that email, Simios has not received it. If you send an email to [email protected], the message and the personal information you include are handled through the relevant email service. Use the address for editorial questions, corrections or privacy questions, and do not include QR codes, activation codes, passwords, payment details or full device identifiers. Those details are not necessary for general information and should remain private.

Email messages may be retained only as long as reasonably necessary to read, respond to, follow up on a correction, meet a legal obligation, or protect the security of the correspondence. Simios does not use email content to build advertising audiences or sell mailing-list data.

Third-party resources used by the site

To display this site as designed, a browser may make requests to external service providers. Tailwind CSS is loaded from the Tailwind CDN. Fonts are requested from Google Fonts and may involve Google’s font infrastructure. Editorial photographs are hosted at images.unsplash.com, an Unsplash image CDN. The browser requests these resources directly so that styles, typefaces and photographs can appear.

Each provider can receive standard technical data associated with a web request. This is common to third-party content delivery, but it is still a reason to be clear about it. Their processing is governed by their own notices and choices, not this page. Simios does not send contact-form content to Tailwind, Google Fonts or Unsplash through the website.

If you prefer to minimise third-party requests, browser privacy controls, content-blocking tools, private browsing modes and locally managed DNS controls may help. Some choices can change the appearance of fonts or images. The core editorial text remains intended to be readable without a personalized service.

European privacy rights

If European data-protection law applies to you, you may have rights to request access to personal data, ask for correction or deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, and receive information about processing. The practical scope depends on the data in question. Since Simios has no reader account system and does not store contact-form submissions on the site, the data available to identify from browsing alone is limited.

For a request relating to an email you sent, contact [email protected] from the same email address where possible and describe the request. A response may require enough information to verify that the request concerns your correspondence. You may also have the right to raise concerns with the data-protection authority in your country of habitual residence, place of work or alleged infringement.

Security and retention

No transmission over the internet can be promised as perfectly secure. Simios keeps its own information collection deliberately narrow: no accounts, no payment pages, no provider activation workflow, and no site-side contact-form storage. Readers can help by avoiding the inclusion of sensitive setup credentials in an email.

The guidance on our travel guide and FAQ also encourages keeping QR codes and activation details private. These are sensible device-security habits, not legal advice.

Changes to this policy

This page may change if the site adds or removes a technical service, updates its email handling, or needs clearer language. The date at the top will be changed when a material revision is published. Continued use of the public site after a change means you are viewing the revised policy; it does not create an account or marketing subscription.
